LANDSCAPES, STREETSCAPES AND CAMP SCENES
This gallery is a mix of landscape, streetscape and camp scene photos. Landscapes offer an opportunity to capture a sense of the emotion of the place. Streetscapes, with their usual noise, chaos and activity, are intriguing ways to capture the energy of a community. Camp scenes, to me, are like memories that try to convey what it felt like to be in a location away from home. The photos are from rural Yolo, Sutter, Colusa and Butte counties, Murphy Creek, the Mojave Preserve, Tanzania, Namibia, Morocco, South Africa, Peru, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, Baja, California and more recently Kansas, Nevada and Nebraska in the U.S. The observant viewer may notice that many of the California images are from the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area, where I spend a lot of my time. (Two of the photos in this gallery were taken with my iPhone. Can you identify them?) Where people are prominent in streetscape photos, I asked their permission before taking the photo.
